Guidance for Clients

The Brief
We meet with prospective clients to discuss requirements and a general brief without charge after which a fee proposal is provided for perusal. Once appointed we clarify the brief in more detail, looking at the clients’ requirements and expectations and at the same time offering other ideas for consideration.

The Process

1 Outline Proposal                                           5 Production Information
2 Sketch Design                                              6 Tender
3 Planning Submission                                    7 On-site Construction
4 Detail Design                                                8 Completion

Appointment of Consultants
In order for a project to proceed smoothly the appropriate consultants need to be appointed. On larger projects we advise appointing a Quantity Surveyor to produce a Bill of Quantities. The building specifications for each project is carried out by Owen Cowe Partnership using the National Building Specification (NBS). A Structural Engineer is appointed at the early stages of the sketch design on larger projects.

Planning Applications
We will advise you on whether a planning application is required and guide the process. We have submitted many successful planning applications and will use our experience to your benefit.

Contract Administration
We administrate the contract between the client and contractor. We verify how much the contractor should be paid each month, and ensure that they are carrying out the project as designed.
